The biopic from acclaimed filmmaker Tony Goldwyn tells the true story of Betty Anne Waters and her sentenced to life brother Kenneth.

Kenny has been arrested for murder and imprisoned. The convicted insists on his innocence, and his younger sister seems to be the only person, who believes him. To prove her brother’s innocence, Betty Anne, the mother of two children, dedicates a considerable part of her life trying to find evidence and make the court overturn the murder conviction. For that purpose Betty works her way through college and law school. She is determined to release wrongfully convicted Kenny from imprisonment for life. Step by step she follows the dramatic events resulted in her brother’s arrest. Abra Rice, the best friend of Waters, helps Betty in her fight for truth and justice. It takes the woman eighteen years to free her brother.

The film “Conviction” is a touching story of utter devotion, sibling connection, unshakable belief and strong desire to reveal the truth. Starring in the title roles of the film are Sam Rockwell as Kenneth; unsurpassed Hilary Swank as his sister Betty Anne Waters; and Minnie Driver as her friend Abra Rice.
