Journalist Julia Jarmond lives in Paris with her husband Bertrand. Working on a story about the siege of Vel d'Hiv, which took place in 1942, she finds fascinating and sad story of a Jewish family occupied Starzynski: husband, wife and two young daughters. This story is somehow intertwined with the Bertrand's family, and with the apartment, which is going to move to Julia and her husband. Journalist has no choice but to try to solve all the puzzles and find out the tragedy that happened in the family Starzynski many decades ago.
