Having lost all their food, the couples have nothing left to do, as to go to their neighbor for help. But Tim disagrees to share his provision with the victims of the looters. To all the misfortunes, happened to the couples, there is also one more thing, which turns their lives into chaos. Mark gets to know about a romantic affair between his wife and Jonathan, and it makes the situation even more complicated…

The movie is a remake of the film “Blood Simple” released in 1985 by Ethan and Joel Coen. The relations between shy Li and the noodle shop owner’s wife cannot escape the suspicious husband, and soon he decides to get rid of his disloyal wife and her lover. For that purpose Wang hires a local officer Zhang, who is to kill the adulterous couple. Zhang although has his own plans concerning this affair. Thus the seemingly perfect plan of Wang goes awry, resulting cruel and bloody violence…
The film is a new feature from acclaimed filmmaker Zhang Yimou, known by his eminent directional work “Fifth Generation”. The thriller blends dark humor and absorbing twists of plot.
