At the same time the jurisdiction of West Texas is very much anxious about the growing number of murders in the place. Unexpectedly to himself Lou find it out, that he may be some way connected with these crimes, and his suspicions grow every day. The man is absolutely sure, that he is a psychopath, having an inclination for sadism. He is a murderer. What should he do with such knowledge of himself? The investigators start to pursue Lou. But there is something strange in their behavior, which gives the haunted man the idea of their own possible secrets…

Nevertheless the attraction between Jean and Véronique grows, turning to an unexpected romance. This is a very delicate and special relationship, full of hidden passion, strong feelings and charm. The excellent play of Sandrine Kiberlain and Vincent Lindon (who are divorced in real life), brings to “Mademoiselle Chambon” that loving atmosphere, which keeps the viewer in suspense. This is an elegant and dramatic love story about the impossible relations between two beloved, who have met each other by chance and couldn’t pass by…

But business affairs are not the main theme of the film; in the center of the plot are dramatic events, happening to another significant member of the Recchi family – Tancredi’s wife. Being a Russian immigrant, Emma has adopted the traditions and culture of Italy. She is a careful mother of her child and a good wife, till she falls in love with her son’s friend Antonio. This is the passion that knows neither age borders, nor any other prejudices. The love affair with Antonio considerably changes Emma, her life and the life of the whole family…

Three teenagers are living with their mother and father on a remote country estate. The politics of the parents is very strange and tight, when it comes to children upbringing. Their kids are totally isolated from the whole world. For the educational purposes they listen to a bunch of handmade tapes, for physical exercises and the entertainment there are also some strict rules, invented by the parents. They avoid new words in order to limit and prevent the possible influence of the world out of the estate boundaries. Any outside word receives a new meaning here, often having nothing in common with the original. So “the sea” means a huge armchair, and “zombies” are none other than small yellow flowers.
The only outside member, who is allowed to come to the house and keep in touch with children, is Cristina, a family’s security guard, who is hired to entertain the male carnality of their son.
But the system of total control invented by the parents can’t exist forever. One day the whole world within the house crashes, and it is Cristina, who is responsible for that. Tired from all the prescribed rules and sexual harassments of the son, she presents a pretty stone headband, which glows in the darkness, to one of the sisters. This action becomes a starting point on the way to shake all the inner world of the estate to its core.

The prominent fashion designer gets to know, that Stravinsky and his family are refugees, who stay in Paris now but have no means of subsistence. Feeling deep compassion for the composer, Coco invites Igor, his wife Catherine and their four children to live in her summer house. Their relations become very friendly, but soon they grow into something more serious, than just a friendship. The attraction between fashion icon and Stravinsky turns into a dramatic love affair.

And one day all the problems of “Moon Films” reveal themselves. The events following after that have really disastrous effects, and not only for the filmmaker and his company, but for his family as well.  “Princess Kaiulani” is a historical drama, based on real events, happened in Hawaii, 1888. The story of the film describes the unstable position of Hawaii of that time: the paradise, which was at the edge of confrontation between civilians and the Hawaiian monarchy. The rebels, upraising against the Royal family were led by the party, influenced by the American government.
As a result of rebellion the monarchy has been overthrown, and the Royal family has been driven away. The young girl of thirteen – that was the princess Kaiulani of that time - shared her relatives’ fate. She was separated from her parents and exiled to England, for her own safety. Absolutely different climate, traditions and culture and, what is more important, absolutely different society, she got into, could change her character inevitably. But despite all suffers and difficulties, she had to go through, princess Kaiulani remained the person, who thought of her motherland and troubled by these memories. She wanted another future for her country and the people.
Soon she fell in love for Clive Davies, a bright Englishman. A bit later the princess decided to return to America in order to meet with President Grover Cleveland. She wanted to put an end to injustice against Havaiian civilians.

Gabriel begins to explore the reasons of his dissatisfaction and all of a sudden comes to a strange conclusion – to give up his professional activity and change it for something else. Thus the idea to write a play of his own appears in his mind. He hires an agent, buys a typewriter and a type-recorder and starts writing his play. The scenario is based on real events; the actors are his close ones. 
The dramatic events, which followed after these changes in Gabriel’s life, were really catastrophic. First of all the play became a sort of self-discovery for the man. While writing a play, he has not only faced with the real himself, but saw the real faces of the people around him.
The success of the play was guaranteed: Gabriel’s talent as a playwright didn’t disappoint him and his audience. But this play cost him a lot. His family life was ended by divorce, his relationships with familiar people changed inevitably. But despite all these changes the main hero seems to have found finally his way to happiness.

“Mother and Child” is an absorbing story, dramatic events of which touch upon the questions of motherhood, adoption and family in whole. The scenario is written by Rodrigo García, who is also the director of the film.
Three storylines form the basis of the plot – the lives of three women, which is rather different but nevertheless have something in common.
Karen (Annette Bening) has been suffering constant torments since fourteen years old, when she gave birth to a baby, but gave up her. Karen has neither seen her baby, nor known anything about her since she was born.
Elizabeth (Naomi Watts) has never known her mother and been adopted in her early ages. The woman became an excellent lawyer, but alongside with her professional success, her personal life needs something to be desired.
Lucy (Kerry Washington) opens the third story, which is also connected with motherhood and adoption. She and her husband dream of having a child of their own, but as far as Lucy is infertile, they have to search for a baby for adoption.
A perfect cast, interesting characters, well thought-out episodes and the talent of Garcia as a filmmaker make the film “Mother and Child” really worth seeing.

“Letters to Juliet” is a sentimental love story, which takes place in the city of Verona. Being a home of legendary Romeo and Juliet, this place has a special atmosphere of love and passion.
 Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) travels to Europe and finds herself in Verona, where she becomes one of numerous volunteers, whose main duty is to answer letters to Juliet. These letters are mostly written by people, who suffer from love and are in search for advice concerning their deep feelings.
One day Sophie finds a lost letter, dated around sixties. The sender of the letter is a certain Claire (Vanessa Redgrave), an Englishwoman, who was a teenage at the moment, when she was writing her letter. Sophie is deeply touched and fascinated by the message of Claire and decides to help the woman to find her love, many years after. She responds Claire and inspires her to take a trip to Italy, where she could find her long-lost love and try to re-establish relations, if it is possible.
Unlike Claire her grandson Charlie (Christopher Egan) is of course not delighted with the idea. But as soon as he likes Sophie, the romantic adventure to Italy is guaranteed. What will her beloved answer to Claire? Is it by any chance possible to find one’s love many years later? “Letters to Juliet” is a film, which knows the answer.

The brilliant artists Hrithik Roshan in the role of Jay and Barbara Mori, who starred as Natasha did their best to create an atmosphere of romance and adventure in “Kites”. This is a story about love without borders. Jay is a light-hearted hustler, Mori is a Mexican actress.
The concurrence of circumstances makes the main hero to display all his courage on his way to Mori’s heart. The thing is that his beloved is engaged to another man. And soon Jay finds himself in the heart of a Mexican desert, wounded and left to die under the merciless sun. He has to struggle for his life, and it is his devoted love to Natasha, which makes him to withstand all the difficulties on his way.
The film directed by Anurag Basu is considered to be a rare “Bollywood” masterpiece – rare in a certain number of reasons. The film has its 90-minutes-long remake, releasing under the title “Kites: The Remix”, which as opposed to its 130-minutes original is shot in a bit different way and rhythm.

Rabe and his command took great part in the negotiations between China and Japan, resulted by the possibility to protect the innocent Chinese people from the Imperial Army and its actions. Thanks to the German businessman a safety zone was created. Hundreds of thousands civilians ran there, and this place became a last hope for many of them to save their lives. According to the reliable information, Rabe has helped to rescue more than 200,000 people’s lives.
The film describes the dramatic events of the year 1937 and introduces to the audience the brave man, who has rendered great services to China and its civilians. The story of the film is based on the diaries of the businessman, written during that period of time.
John Rabe became a national hero in China, and he is still considered to be the prominent figure in the history of the country, although he has never been awarded inter vivos.

Yosef Zimmerman - a friend of him, offers Sam a job of a mule for a drug dealer in Israel, and Sam takes the offer. Soon he becomes a skilled smuggler of Ecstasy. Exciting the luxurious lifestyle of Amsterdam and Manhattan, Sam experiments with Ecstasy and falls in love for his dealer’s girlfriend Rachel. At the same time Sam Gold is under suspicion of illegal affairs in Jewish community, he belongs to.
The more Sam gets involved in drug business, the more evident it becomes to him, that this is not the sort of job, he would like to do. One day he decides to put an end to this business and run.

“Happiness Runs” is a psychological drama, directed by Adam Sherman and partly based on the autobiographical events from his childhood. The film touches upon a life within a hippie commune in sixties. The lifestyle of the commune is based on principles of free love, drugs and violence.
The main hero of the story, telling us by Sherman, is Victor, who was born and raised in the commune. Seeing perfectly well disadvantages of the Utopian views, the young man realizes soon, that his own ideas and ideals do not correspond with those of the community. This is the place, where women bodies can be freely used by the guru Insley, who uses his abilities to hypnosis to seduce women and take their possessions. The new generation, who lives in the atmosphere of drugs and polygamy nearly since childhood is really threatening either.
Victor and his girlfriend Becky are going to run from this world, but to do that they need money. For this purpose Victor tries to sell weed, but his attempt to earn money in such a way fails. The guys from the commune, who are also interested in Becky, cut him out. He tries to get money from his mother, but she is also among those, who are deeply influenced by the guru. Besides Becky can’t leave her father, who is near death. Victor has nothing to do but staying with Becky to protect her from the possible violence.


Daddy Longlegs

Joshua and Ben Safdie present their film “Daddy Longlegs”, dedicated to their beloved father and based on real events, taken from their own childhood. Partly a comedy and partly a drama, the film describes Lenny (Ronald Bronstein) and his relations with his two sons Frey and Sage, played by brothers Frey and Sage Ranaldo. The relations are quite difficult and there are several reasons for that. First of all it is because Lenny is divorced and lives separately from the family and his sons. The second reason is his own character, which makes him often to behave as an overgrown child. Therefore the couple of weeks, he spends with his kids every year, turn into real chaos. Trying to be caring and strict father at the same time, Lenny often loses control over Frey and Sage.
Working as a projectionist at the local theater situated in New York City, he often has to work overtime. He takes boys with himself, and this ends by nothing good but their run off the theater. The occasional trip to upstate New York also appears to be rather troublesome than enjoyable.
“Daddy Longlegs” is a funny story, that touches upon the issue of parenthood and difficulties, which each father can experience sometimes, when it comes to upbringing children.

The events of the film are based on real events, which took place in Monterrey (Mexico) in 1957. Despite of their poverty, the boys had a common dream and they strived to implement it. It was a strong desire to become professional baseball players and to win was their main virtue. Trained by the former baseball coach, the boys got the skills to play baseball perfectly.
With the basic skills and longing for triumph, the baseball players started to travel to the championship. The road to fame wasn’t so easy to the sportsmen, but they did their best to be in Little League Game. The desire of boys to find their place in life was very strong. Due to their persistence, courage and great skills the baseball players could reach the top.
Supported by the priest and the baseball coach, the boys had to cross soon the whole America to get in place where the championship took place.
So young and so talented, the young Mexicans managed to gain the highest price during the game and were accepted as the best team.

But several months after Bennett’s death, the family gets acquainted with a young woman called Rose. Rose is appeared to have been familiar with their dear son before the car crash. Moreover she announces the grieving couple that she is waiting a baby soon, and the father of her child is Bennett. Allen and Grace have to take Rose in. First her appearance in the Brewer’s family causes particular changes in the life, they are used to. Someway it tears Grace and Allen from each other even more. But as soon as they understand, that Rose is quite a nice woman to keep in touch with, she gradually becomes a good friend of both of them. Step by step the family finds the way to mutual understanding and assistance and reunites.

The main hero of the film is Don McKay (Thomas Haden Church), who left his hometown twenty-five years ago. Due to some dramatic events, happened there long ago, he bet never to come back. But after receiving a letter from his former girlfriend called Sonny (Elisabeth Shue), he decides to change his mind and returns to see her.  In her message Sonny tells Don, that she is dying and wants to see him before the death.
Don McKay finds his ex-passion rather changed, as well as the town he lived in. The whole atmosphere of the town and its inhabitants make Don feel strangely comfortless. Trying to kindle the flame of love between them again, soon he gets involved in the spiteful world of this place and may never return to his usual life. Sonny regrets that she let him go twenty-five years ago, and seems to have realized the power of her love to him only being near death.
The film “Don McKay” tells the viewer a dramatic story of romance, love and death, reflecting themselves through human relations. The film was directed by Jake Goldberger and is appeared to be one of those, providing us with a good example of how these relations can be.

The film is a biographical drama. The plot is based on the story of the secret marriage of the Italian dictator (Filippo Timi) to Ida Dalser (Giovanna Mezzogiorno). It is seldom discussed in history books but this fact doesn’t alleviate the drama of the situation. They meet when Mussolini is just at the dawn of his political career. The film reveals their complex, full of contradictions and ambiguity relationship. Head over heels in love, Dalser sells off her possession in order to raise money for financing the publication of socialist newspaper and helping a fascist dictator-to-be to build his career.  She believes his words about "socially emancipated future” and wholly shares his ideals.
Having borne Mussolini a son, Dalser finds out that he has already had another family and begins to protest the situation. Her request ruins her own life and the life her adulterate son. The Fascist dictator does his best to get rid of her.
