Inspector Paul Bellamy and his devoted wife decide to have a rest from a daily routine and spend their vacations in a quiet town far from noise and crowd. The couple moves to the South of France and settles in a cute cottage belonging to Françoise’s mother.
But their solitude gets disturbed very soon by the inspector’s troubled brother, who unexpectedly arrives to Bellamy in a company of an unknown guest. During the conversation with the last one it becomes clear, that the visitor is in trouble and needs the assistance and protection of the inspector.
Noel intrigues Bellamy by his confused story full of delicate hints and mystery, and Paul decides to investigate this case. According to the words of the troubled visitor, he is concerned about a murder, which he has probably committed, but he refuses to tell the name of the victim. Noel is emotionally unstable, and actually, Bellamy has no idea, if he should believe Noel’s words or not. Relying mostly on his intuition rather than on the facts, unsurpassed Bellamy is going to solve the case…
