Georges (André Dussollier) has found a red wallet. Rising curiosity made him to open it and examine the personal data of its owner. It is Marguerite (Sabine Azéma), who has lost her red wallet. Having a thing, belonging to another person in his hands, Georges has a strange feeling, that forces him not to go to the police with his finding, as would a normal man probably do, but arrange a meeting with the owner of the wallet personally.

In turn Marguerite is very much surprised and curious to see the stranger, who has found her wallet. She wonders who he is and how he looks like and everything about him…

So this seemingly casual happening changes everyday lives of both Georges and Marguerite. While they exchange civilities, providing them with numerous thanks, their chance meeting suddenly grows into great romantic adventure.

Alain Resnais – the brilliant filmmaker and the director of “Wild Grass”, created this drama film to show the audience, how events, even insignificant by the first sight, can become a starting point to something serious and even grandiose in our lives. The perfect cast, including Sabine Azéma, André Dussollier, Mathieu Amalric, Emmanuelle Devos and Anne Consigny did their best to make “Wild Grass” unforgettable to the public.
