Robert Malone is a single senior man, working at a local grocery shop. His winter morning begins as usual: he brushes his teeth, has a breakfast and goes to work. It is Christmas time, and the streets of the town are already decorated with numerous lights, but Robert doesn’t wait anything special from the holidays. Christmas for him means a single present signed “Robert to Robert” and a lonely night, one of the many, he has got used to.
But one day his loneliness is disturbed by a new family, moving into a house by neighborhood. The man refuses to wave back to the cheery neighbors, but he lingers a bit at his doorstep to observe the movers.
When Robert returns home from work, to his great surprise he finds an intruder inside of his property. The guest is caught unawares, and the awkward situation, she has got into, turns to embarrassment and awkward explanations, both humorous and silly. It is a beautiful woman called Mary, a new neighbor, who has invaded Robert’s house so imprudently. But a little bit later she surprises the man even more, when asks Robert out on a date. Thus begins the fascinating love story between two lonely hearts.
The film is written and directed by Nicholas Fackler. Martin Landau stars in the role of Robert; Ellen Burstyn plays Mary.
