Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron) is a young man, absolutely devoted to his family. He can’t imagine his life without it. He is a loving son of his mother (Kim Basinger) and a good brother to little Sam (Charlie Tahan). When his young brother dies, Charlie can’t accept his death. So much, that he agrees for the job of a cemetery caretaker, where Sam is buried, in order to be as much close to his brother, as possible. Every night his brother comes to Charlie to play and talk. And he gives Sam a promise…
Then she appears in his life. It is Tess (Amanda Crew), Charlie’s classmate, who changes everything in St. Cloud and around him. The guy is torn now between his four years earlier promise given to Sam and his unexpected love to her. Deeply involved in this romantic journey, Charlie St. Cloud realizes all of a sudden, that dramatic events from his past should be forgotten for his own sake. His soul has suffered enough, and now it is high time the page of his life turned over. Life is going on, and we can’t return those who passed away…
The plot of the film is based on the original novel. It is a romantic and touching story of a young man, who goes through the tragedy in his family, but finds the way to overcome his past.
