“Holy Rollers” is a drama film, based on real events, happening around nineties. It describes the crime story, connected with drugs: the way how they get into US, from where they come and who is behind this sort of business.
Sam Gold is a young Jew, living with his family in the Orthodox community in Brooklyn. His life is strictly predetermined by his relatives. They have chosen a fiancée for him for one, and they see him to become a Rabbi in future for seconds. Being not crazy about his would-be wife and not inspired by the position of a Rabbi, Sam doesn’t think twice, when he sees the opportunity to change his life to the better.
Yosef Zimmerman - a friend of him, offers Sam a job of a mule for a drug dealer in Israel, and Sam takes the offer. Soon he becomes a skilled smuggler of Ecstasy. Exciting the luxurious lifestyle of Amsterdam and Manhattan, Sam experiments with Ecstasy and falls in love for his dealer’s girlfriend Rachel. At the same time Sam Gold is under suspicion of illegal affairs in Jewish community, he belongs to.
The more Sam gets involved in drug business, the more evident it becomes to him, that this is not the sort of job, he would like to do. One day he decides to put an end to this business and run.
